Release notes
Newest first. The order is not written anywhere — the settings file asks this section for
"order": "desc" and the filenames do the rest.
Each note is dated in its frontmatter, so its date shows under its title, and the section sets
"feed": true: subscribe to release-notes/feed.xml in a feed reader to hear about the next one.
The list below is not written here either: listing: true in this page's frontmatter asks for
the pages it fronts, each with the date and summary the note gives itself.
This page also names the section: the sidebar reads "Release notes" rather than
release-notes, because this is the index page of that directory and it opens with a heading.
- Tags in a stream
Tags in a stream section — on each post, on the list, and a page for every tag.
- Authors, covers, and the next post
Authors, covers and the next post on stream pages; links that match their page in any letter case; builds that never read their own output.
- What to read next
What to read next after every post, featured posts atop a stream's list, and tag pages in pages.
- A stream's list in pages
A stream's list in pages — ten posts to a page unless pageSize says otherwise.
- One scheme, dated file names, and nothing overwritten
One-scheme sites, dates from file names, tables on phones, a skip link, and no more silently overwritten files.
- A blog in your own site
A blog in your own site's header, footer and colors — stream sections, regions and slots.
- Your CSS wins
A site's own CSS now wins over the built-in styles at any specificity, and the field that carries it is called styles.
- Dated pages, and sections you can follow
Dated pages show when they were published and describe themselves as articles, a section can be followed as an Atom feed, an index can list its series, and a site that is already broken can be adopted.
- The front page first, and checks that ask the renderer
The front page opens the sidebar and the reading order, --help and --version exit cleanly, and check now agrees with the renderer on which files ship and where links point.
- A sidebar of rows, and metadata for search and sharing
A sidebar redesign, search/share metadata for every page — descriptions, canonical URLs, Open Graph, language editions — and dated sitemap entries.
- Rebuilding on every save
A watch command that rebuilds on every save, and the other changes of August 11, 2026.
- Search, and a complete reading experience in every build
Search with a keyboard shortcut and a complete reading experience in every build, as of August 9, 2026.
- A top bar, faster builds, and index pages named for what they open
A top bar for the site's own identity, and the other changes of August 8, 2026.
- One settings file, three commands, one site
The first release: one settings file, three commands, one site.
